Contributors Gallery Online / SOACB on the Moffat
News Story Posted By Kevin (Click Name To Email)
Thursday, April 6, 2006 - I'm pleased to announce that my Contributors Gallery is starting to expand some for the first time in a few years! Damian Lydick, friend of mine for nearly 15 years, sent me some pictures to include in the gallery. He and I take our annual Helper Trip in May or June (and have since 1999)! He is a skilled photographer (currently using a Canon Digital Rebel) and I'm happy to include a link to his first picture set added to the website. You can also visit the complete Contributors Gallery to see all the contributions made to the website.
In other news, early this morning the SOACB-04 came over the Moffat, passing C&S Junction just before 8am. Unfortunately, I was not able to get trackside to grab any pictures. Last year when this train ran over the Moffat, however, it came through in the evening and I did get one nice shot of the train at East Leyden just before sunset. Each year, UP stores many of its passenger cars in Oakland during the bad winter months, and typically the train runs back to Council Bluffs (for the summer months) in April. For the last two years, the trains has come over the Moffat rather than over the Overland route in Wyoming. This year's power was an SD70M and an AC4400CW-CTE.
