UP 1989 to lead the Ski Train

Friday, February 2, 2007 - This weekend, the Rio Grande Heritage Unit is going to lead the Ski Train. SKTX 289 (one of the three F40's usually on the train) is in the shops at Burnham for repairs. UP 1989 (Search Photo Gallery) is going to be the substitute. This is more than just a rumor at this point too.
Earlier today, UP 1989 (Search Photo Gallery) ran around the Belt in preparation to head to Union Station. According to the latest trace, UP 1989 (Search Photo Gallery) was interchanged with BNSF (which is a necessary step to reach Union Station) around 8:30pm today (2/1).
Good luck to anyone that can make it track side tomorrow morning. Don't forget, now that we are in February, the Ski Train will run Friday's through Sunday's.
