Sunday, June 17, 2007 - Ever since Union Pacific unveiled the first Heritage Units in July 2005, they have said that at some point in the future all six Heritage Units (Missouri Pacific, Western Pacific, Katy, Rio Grande, CNW, and Espee) would come together for a photo op. That time is finally upon us!
In a press release, UP announced that all six units will be in Salt Lake City at UP's intermodal facility on Saturday, June 30th.
UP 1989 (Search Photo Gallery) headed east to North Platte, NE on Friday, most likely to rendezvous with the MP, Katy and CNW units. From North Platte, I would expect the units to head west on the Overland, straight into Salt Lake City.
