Winter Park Grade Separation Project
Summary Information
Railroad Union Pacific
Overview Note that this is a correction from the previous belief that Winter Park was being extended to the east. The tracks will pass underneath a new underpass for Timber House Road Crossing near the west end of Winter Park.
Purpose This project will allow trains to stop on the siding at Winter Park without blocking the road crossing.
Plan The main track will be taken out of service while the underpass is completed for the main, and then the siding will be taken out of service (main will be put back in service) while the siding underpass is completed.

Detail Information
Timeline Unknown
Major Obstacles 1. Funding / Priority from Omaha.
Project Updates
4/1/2006 - Both the main track and siding are back in service as the new bridge just west of the Winter Park resort has been completed.
3/26/2006 - When passing through Winter Park on the Ski Train, I noticed that the main line is back in service (on a new bridge) and the siding is now out of service for construction.
3/12/2006 - The main track is out of service for bridge construction and all trains are being routed through the siding at Winter Park.
12/9/2005 - The mainline through Winter Park is currently Out Of Service (OOS) and all trains are running through the siding to allow the overpass to be built over the main.
Start Date 11/1/2005
Completion Date 4/1/2006
