A single ET44AC, one of the few Tier-4 locomotives on UP's roster, brings up the tail end of this westbound coal load at Spring Glen. The coal is headed for Long Beach, CA, where it will be exported.

The former Rio Grande has two main tracks that run the entire length over Soldier Summit. Those two main tracks go down to just a single main here at Spring Glen, just east of Helper. The Zephyr is accelerating after its station stop at Helper, moving from Main 2 to the single main track.
