UP 4014 (the Big Boy) leads a passenger special running west on the Overland. The train is headed to California. It will then return east to Cheyenne before departing east on Memorial Day for Washington DC to celebrate the United States Semiquincentennial (250th birthday). You can see a pair of mid-train DPUs in the distance on the S-Curve on Main 3. For those unfamiliar, Union Pacific has two different grades between Cheyenne and Dale Jct (near Hermosa Tunnel). Not far east of Dale is a massive cut towering at least 150 feet over the railroad. Here, a westbound unit grain train is about to pass through the cut.
