So what, right? At first glance, there doesn't seem to be anything special about the unit. However, it is the first C44-9W that I have seen wearing the New Image scheme instead of the Heritage II scheme! In addition to the standard power on the train, two SD40-2s are on the train too. They were serviced in Denver and will act as the power on the Golden Switch in the week to come. The setting sun is hiding behind the Arvada water tower. Behind me, Wadsworth Blvd is in the process of being lowered underneath the tracks here.
