The majority of the coal trains that come down from the Moffat head east on the Limon Sub for points in Missouri, Illinois and beyond. Several years ago, Watkins was going to be the location of a new UP Yard (relocated from 36th Street in Denver). However, as of 2010, those plans have not yet come together. In addition to the standard power on the train, two SD40-2s are on the train too. They were serviced in Denver and will act as the power on the Golden Switch in the week to come.
