Just outside of Byers Canyon, UP's Board of Directors Special throttles up again to make track speed for the remainder of the journey to Kremmling. Trains make their way through Byers Canyon at 20 MPH, but passenger trains accelerate to 70 MPH once they are clear of the west end.
