This coal train loaded at the West Elk Mine on the North Fork Branch two days ago. Fortunately, the engineer setting up the power in Grand Junction set up 1982 to lead east. This single track bridge is close to a mile long and takes the A-Line from along Smith Road and the Limon Sub over the tracks and over I-70 in order to parallel Pena Blvd to DIA. The units were built by Siemens and are headed for Pennsylvania. RTD's "A Line", which runs from Union Station to Denver International Airport, follows UP's Limon Sub for much of the run. Here, just west of Airport Blvd, the A-Line ascends and crosses over the Limon Sub. If only a commuter train has passed over right at this moment! The first is the Roydale Local, led by a pair of GP38-2s. The second is a UP special that is transporting four Siemens electric units.
