A few days earlier, these units were both involved in a derailment. Both units fell over (opposite sides from the picture). BNSF rerailed the units and temporarily stored them in the stub track that served Homestead House.

An elevated roster shot of BNSF 9801, involved in the Longmont Turn derailment two days earlier. The unit appeared to be in pretty good shape, all things considered. The Front Range Sub mainline is just visible in the distance.

A look at the back end of BNSF 143, which was involved in the derailment of the Longmont Turn. The unit fell over onto the engineers side (right side in this shot). This is a look from the end of the stub track that once served Homestead House. The stub track is looking a bit dilapidated now!
