Moving along the lower grade at Broomfield (the mainline), a northbound HDENLAU (Denver, CO to Laurel, MT) manifest makes its way toward Burns Junction.

A pair of BNSF C44-9Ws and a KCS AC4400CW make up the power on this days Denver to Laurel manifest. On this day, the train got a track warrant from Denver all the way to Boulder. This is rather rare as nearly every train has to at least stop in Broomfield to throw a switch!

I have always been a fan of Kansas City Southern. Probably because the railroad was very similar in size to the Rio Grande and yet it has survived and even grown into the 21st Century
