And man has it proven to be a popular model! GE has produced of 4,000 units just for BNSF and UP alone! More than 7,000 units have been produced for all North American railroads combined. The makeup of the train is one of the more interesting ones I've seen. Box cars, covered hoppers, open hoppers, tank cars, centerbeam flats, TOFCs, and COFCs...all found on the same train! When I setup for this shot, the scene was bathed in great lightning. Alas, a cloud blew in and added shade to the scene a mere 30 seconds prior to the arrival of the train! Here, the three GE units on the head end knock down the signal at West Tonville. The west switch is located nearly a small pond that helps to offer a nice foreground.
