A crew members from the MNYRO stands by on the front porch of UP 6302 as a "Snow Bus" passes by on the siding. The Snow Bus is used to transport crews back and forth to trains that cannot be reached by road (due to adverse weather).

Robert, the snow can be deep enough on the rails to derail a hyrailer (truck with extendable flanged wheels). That is why they have the units (one on either end for ease of movement in both directions) and the caboose in the middle.

Why TWO engines?  
Could they not use a fuel efficient, comfortable, quiet, air conditioned SUV-type vehicle with extendable flanged wheels?
