This is probably my favorite shot of the day. A light dusting of snow from flurries over the weekend remains on the ground as the eastbound MDVSI (Manifest, Denver to Salina, KS) cruises along just east of Mesa with a warrant to MP 595, right at Byers, CO.

The track just to the left of the tank cars is the original Mesa Siding. There was once another "house track" for a wooden grain elevator about even with the end of this train, also to the left. I grew up in Aurora, and would often come out this way and see UP and RI trains, including the UP's City of Kansas City" meeting the mixed 117-118 (old Portland Rose) in the late evening...
