Direct sunlight eluded me for much of the morning as clouds were moving through the area. Here, this eastbound coal load is about to cross the grade crossing at Tolland. Note the yellow school building in the background, a staple of Tolland.

every yr i take a trip to east portal i pull over for a coffee break than head west this is a wonderful picture you can almost reach out and touch the mountains here good place to watch amtrak go by too ..
