In the past two years or so, SD70ACes have become far more commonplace on UP coal trains. While they are by no means "the norm", it is not unusual to see them anymore. For close to a decade, UP never ran them on coal trains, making them something of a rarity in Denver. Here, a fairly new SD70ACe leads a westbound coal empty toward a clear signal at the east switch of Rocky.
