Whereas coal used to be the main commodity on the Moffat, with as many as 9 loads and 9 empties running in a 24 hour period in 2007, today it has become extremely scarce! The Moffat will now go days, weeks, or even months between coal trains. I was lucky to catch one on the second day of summer, seen here climbing west out of Rocky toward Big Ten.
