I am no steam expert by a long shot, but I believe UP 3985 is missing quite a bit of its skin that would be used to cover the boiler and firebox. I am not sure why it was removed, or if it is being included with the donation of the unit to the Railroading Heritage of Midwest America museum. Email Questions or Comments to the Webmaster.
