Now here is a familiar and friendly face! A few years ago, this was DRGW 3121. It hasn't changed too much...it even still has its class lights in place. UP has kept the unit in Colorado, most recently working in Pueblo. Here, it is being moved to La Salle for switching.

A work train that came out of Cheyenne is holding in the siding at Hazeltine on its way into Denver (North Yard). The train is waiting for the MDVGR and the MNYNP, both of which came out of Denver at almost the exact same time.

Planes and trains as seen from an automobile! The fuselage for a 737-800 rests on a flat car as it is transported from Wichita, KS to Seattle, WA. Typically these trains run through Nebraska, but recently flooding resulted in a re-route up the Joint Line and Brush Sub in Colorado.

Fuselages for Boeing airplanes are built in Wichita, KS. The final assembly of the planes takes place in the Seattle, WA area. So how do those fuselages get there? By train of course! Here, a fuselage for a future 737-800 is being transported by BNSF to Boeing in Washington State.

Severe flooding in the mid-west plains states has resulted in several BNSF lines being submerged for extended lengths of time. Consequently, a lot of trains are being rerouted on different lines. The HKCKPAS (Kansas City to Pasco, WA) has been rerouted through Colorado. Here, the train heads east on the Brush Sub with three Boeing 737 fuselages in the consist.

Not far south of the south switch at Brighton, the MNYNP-08 comes to a stop to wait for a southbound to meet at Brighton. The MNYNP-08 is over 7,300 feet long and it won't fit in the siding without blocking crossings in town. Meanwhile, DRGW 5371 sits as the sixth unit, looking pretty darn good while it waits!

On the mainline at Hazeltine, the MNYNP-08 is rolling north at track speed with DRGW 5371 in tow as the sixth unit. While the 5371 is not DIC (it is idling), it will not load and thus is not doing any "actual" work.

After meeting a southbound Z-Train at Hazeltine, this unique consist of American Orient Express cars departs north on the Greeley Sub. I believe the cars are being sent to Colorado Railcar in Fort Lupton. Summer afternoon clouds were building to the east of Denver over the plains.
