Under hazy thin clounds, BNSF 4479 south makes its way through Castle Rock. Another half mile down the road, and the train will be running parallel to I-25 and its Frontage Road for the next five miles on the way toward Larkspur.

By afternoon, this train (which left Monument several hours earlier) has finally reached Castle Rock. Several people watch over the movement of this large load, from inside as well as outside. Somewhat analogous to the "wide loads" you see moving on the interstates from time-to-time.

The town of Castle Rock is preparing to widen Interstate 25. To accomodate the wider highway, a new bridge for the northbound main (main two) is currently being constructed. Note the SP logo on the bridge.

On rare occassions, a southbound train will be sent south on main two, the northbound track. This southbound is about to pass underneath Meadows Parkway in Castle Rock.
