Of the four units on the train, only the lead unit was UP. The second unit (as clearly seen here) and the two tail end DPUs were all Kansas City Southern. The trains are running between Wash, UT (where they are loaded) and Midwest City, OK (where they are unloaded). With the recent boom in oil in the US, more such trains may be coming to the Moffat. Considering it has been 18 years since the UP/SP merger, I suppose that even 11 out of the 279 units originally delivered in 1995 isn't bad! The detector was once located at MP 6, but was moved east to MP 5.5 when the Arvada Siding was built. Well, it has been moved again, seen here at MP 8.4.
