I had originally wanted to get this shot more toward the middle of the siding, but a string of empty hoppers (that delivered coal to the Valmont Power Plant) blocked that plan. You can also see the headlights of some MOW equipment as well. BNSF is working hard there to get the line open for the Valmont coal train so the Valmont Power Plant can continue to generate electricity. Granted, with the water being as high as it is, water still is flowing underneath it. The challenge for engineers will be getting the creek to "want" to take its previous path, which include turns here at the tracks and running parallel over to the bridge. Boulder creek used to run parallel to the tracks (on the right side) in this shot. The massive amounts of water, however, led to the destruction of the fill and this new path for the creek.
