An eastbound UP oil train is coming up to Rollins, and the valley floor opens up a bit. Would not complain about living here, alongside the tracks and South Boulder Creek!

This time of year, the valley east of Tolland only barely gets any sunlight, even in the middle of the day. The sun is so far to the south, the south mountains of the valley block the sun. Fortunately, there is just enough sunlight to light up a UP ES44AC and a CP ES44AC, leading an eastbound loaded oil train across South Boulder Creek.

You cannot beat a scene like this, in the middle of winter in the Colorado Rockies. This oil train is headed east on the highest Class 1 mainline in the country. It is a straight line back past east Tolland and on the main. The Continental Divide stands tall in the background, the valley the train is entering lined with pine trees.
