Cars are lined on both sides of US-287 through the town. I saw plenty of license plates from Kansas and Utah as railfans and steam fans (who are not necessarily railfans otherwise) made the trek to check it out. The town of Hugo is flooded with steam enthusiasts. So much so that local police were conducting traffic control at intersection is the typically sleepy town.
