Descending down the lower half of Big Ten Curve, the Ski Train is approaching the west switch of Rocky on a clear signal. Note the hoppers welded to the track (not the main, obviously), serving as a wind break against 90+ MPH wind gusts that are often felt here.

On a bright a sunny Tuesday morning, Amtrak 5 makes its away around Big Ten Curve with a fairly standard consist: two engines, a bagage car, eight superliners, and two ExpressTrax box cars.
