When running on time, the eastbound and westbound Zephyrs are about as far apart as they can be when they make their respective stops in Denver. However, on this morning, the eastbound Zephyr from the night before was running 14 hours late and the westbound zephyr was running 2 hours late. You can now take your DRGW Heritage Unit and your Zephyr train set and run them together!! UP 1989 sits on the point of the Zephyr at Union Station. The second P42 was not loading and UP 1989 was added in Salt Lake City to help out. Three passenger trains at Union Station. Well...not quite. The P42 on the far left side of the picture is sitting alone on a stub track. It is used as a backup unit, should it be needed. The focus of the picture is the eastbound California Zephyr. On the right side of the picture is Disney's A Christmas Carol Tour Train, preparing to depart for Salt Lake City.
