I never had the opportunity to shoot this scheme on locomotives, but it is pretty cool to find it on the occasional covered hopper. After absorbing Southern Pacific (which, of course, was taken over by Rio Grande), Union Pacific was the only Class 1 railroad with any Tunnel Motors. However, UP shed the Tunnel Motors from their roster well over a decade ago. A former Espee SD40T-2 has been acquired by OmniTrax and has been repainted in the blue NKCR paint scheme.
