While no eastern railroad is particularly common in Colorado, CSX seems to be exceptionally rare in the Centennial State. I was hoping to get plenty of KCS Belle shots as that scheme will be fading in coming years with the creation of CPKC. One thing I was not expecting was to find a CP/CSX duo leading a train through south Texas! I was not complaining, however, as the red and blue contrast was a nice variation from the yellow and orange I'm used to seeing in Colorado. The southbound will stop at the south end of the yard and tie down on the main, waiting for a fresh crew to take the train south. As part of this trip, I was really hoping to get shots of KCS Belle's on as many trains as possible. So it was quite ironic how many trains I caught with solid CP power! Once complete, the train will pull to the north end of the yard limits and wait for a recrew. A southbound covered hopper train waits for a recrew in the distance as a northbound tank train also pulls in to the yard. This yard serves as a crew change point for CPKC trains on the Rosenberg Sub. Trains departing north do not stop in Houston, but continue straight through.
