During the winter months, the Zephyr often runs with only seven Superliners west of Denver due to a decrease demand in ridership. The train has just crossed Kipling Street (back at the red intermediate) and is approaching 72nd Avenue. Note the sign that says "X" and "QZ". The "X" indicates to the crew that a grade crossing is approaching. The "QZ" indicates that the crossing is a "Quiet Zone", and that the horn should not be used (unless somebody is actually on the tracks).
