The Zephyr emerges from Tunnel 42 right next to the Colorado in this shot, just east of Radium. Radium is a common spot for rafters to board their craft and navigate them down stream to Yarmony. However...note the lead swing helper. It is an SD70ACe! It is extremely rare to find an SD70ACe on a UP coal train. Three days later and the train had reloaded at the Energy Mine on the Craig Branch and was headed east out of Leyden. Once arriving at Utah Junction, the train will crossover from the UP Main to the BNSF Main in preparation to head north on the Front Range Sub. It took a lot of massaging in PhotoShop to get the picture into a state that was reasonably viewable! It was well past sunset at this point, and in fact twilight was nearly over. BNSF is repaying some horsepower-miles. The train was called at 3:00pm on this day, but didn't leave North Yard until about five minutes after sunset. This shot has an interesting effect, which is the result of 1600 ISO and very little light left!
