You get a very relaxed feeling as you pass places like the Egeria Park Roping Club in Routt County outside Toponas. UP 7084 and train are doing that exact thing on this Sunday morning. This is one time when I wish I had a lens that could give me something between 135mm and 300mm! I had expected to chase this train east as far as Winter Park on my journey back toward the Front Range. However, fate had other plans as the train struck some rocks near MP 147 west of Volcano. The Zephyr emerges from Tunnel 42 right next to the Colorado in this shot, just east of Radium. Radium is a common spot for rafters to board their craft and navigate them down stream to Yarmony. The power will continue on to Glenwood Springs where it will be set out in the yard. Then, three units at a time will be added to eastbound coal loads coming from the mines in Grand Junction.
