A BNSF train makes its way around Big Ten Loop. But the question is, which way is it going? If you guessed west, you'd be correct. The three units toward the right side of the screen are on the head end and the train is pulling up grade. There is a single DPU unit on the tail end of the train.

The eastbound California Zephyr is running about 45 minutes early (yes, early) as it rounds Big Ten Curve on its journey east. It will meet westbounds at Rocky and Leyden (both of which are already waiting for the Zephyr).

This is one of the coolest parts of Big Ten Curve. Up and to the right in this picture, the head end power is on the approach to Clay. Looking out the window, however, they can observe the tail end of their train, just coming out of Rocky getting read to climb up around the curve as well.

On a partly cloudy February morning, the Ski Train leaves Big Ten behind and rounds the curve into Clay. Note the tracks leading into Big Ten from Rocky in the lower left had corning of the picture.

Light is shining down on Big Ten Curve as a C44-9W and two C40-8Ws pull on BNSF's MDVPVJ-24. The hoppers that serve as a wind break are just visible to the left of the lead unit.

Perhaps a view never again to be repeated, DRGW 5371 returns to Colorado as the fifth of five units on the MRONY-04. 5371 is supposed to be retired soon, perhaps after this trip. The train is rounding Big Ten Curve in between Clay and Rocky.
