An eastbound BNSF manifest hold on the siding at Plain to meet with this westbound UP coal empty. UP? Yup! BNSF was paying back some power sharing hours and UP decided to run them on the Moffat.

Ouch! Talk about your faded paint schemes! This has got to be just about the worst (sun-bleached) BNSF unit that I've ever seen. The interesting thing is that the orange is really the only color to drastically fade!

One of the F40PH's on the Ski Train is kicking up a bit of smoke this morning! The train is running on clear signals as it comes west on the main track at Plain toward Rainbow Cut.

The last DPU on a eastbound coal load moves away from the camera on the main on the right as a westbound coal empty slowly starts to pull west out of the siding on the left.

Five, count them five swing helpers were cut into the middle of this eastbound coal load. Most coal trains on the Moffat have three mid-train swing helpers on them. This train has eight units on it overall. A 2x5x1 configuration.

A long coal empty slowly pulls into the siding at Plain to prepare for a meet with an eastbound coal load. The eastbound is still up at Cliff waiting for the westbound Zephyr, so this empty will be holding short of the grade crossing at Plain for about an hour.

May all the passengers on the Zephyr have smooth sailing and clear signals on this Christmas Eve!

Running on a clear signal, the westbound Zephyr is working to make up a few minutes as it heads west. The siding at Plain is empty as there aren't a lot of trains running on Christmas Eve!
