On April 12, 2002, an eastbound coal train tripped a hotbox detector. Following regulations, the crew stopped the train to walk the train an examine it for a hotbox. Unknown to the crew, the car with the hotbox stopped on the wooden trestle that was located here, over Turkey Creek. The hotbox caused the trestle to catch fire and burn down! My guess would be that it was placed in "long term" storage at some point. However, this afternoon, it is paired with UP 4015 and headed east to Oakley, KS.
