Following just six minutes behind the eastbound California Zephyr, we find the eastbound Winter Park Express! It is going to be a little delayed today as the dispatcher held the train at Fraser to wait for the Zephyr.

This was my last shot of the Silver Solarium on the tail end of the Zephyr on this February day in 2018. You can barely see any of the Amtrak equipment, so it isn't too hard to imagine this shot was taken in 1968 instead of 2018! Incidentally, Happy Birthday to the Silver Solarium, which turns 70 here in 2018.

The snow comes down as the eastbound Zephyr approaches the Vasquez Road grade crossing in Winter Park. After a couple of delays due to weather, the Zephyr is now rolling on clear signals and will have a straight shot the rest of the way in to Denver.
