The Hudson Turn slows to a crawl as it approaches the CO-2 overpass west of Barr. There is a coal load holding the main east of Irondale (the next siding to the west) and, as a result, the local here is approaching a red intermediate, the tail end of the coal load just on the opposite side.

Being an "EMD guy", I really love how reliable old EMDs prove themselves to be. Railroads continue to rebuild and use EMD power that is 40+ years old! Here, the Hudson Turn sports two GP38-2. The first unit receive a repaint after its last rebuild, and sports the New Image scheme. The second units still wears the original Heritage scheme. While subtle, this shot clearly shots that the Heritage scheme did indeed use a very dark green, whereas the New Image scheme just uses black.

Between the sidings of Irondale and Barr, CO-2 crosses over the tracks. The bridge offers a pretty good view of westbounds. Such is the case with this shot of the westbound Hudson Turn. The train entirely consists of tank cars and covered hoppers, and is blocked accordingly.
