The day after the Rio Grande Heritage Unit is unveiled, the unit was open to the public from 9am to 12pm. There were far fewer people here (and no passenger cars), making for slightly better images.

UP 1989 from nose to tail! I love the mountains at the front of the long hood and on the cab. Long time since there was a new unit with fly letters too!

After public viewing of UP 1989 closed at noon, it was immediately moved into North Yard for preparations for movement to Burnham. There it will be examined before being placed in revenue service.
