The power is in a unique configuration with SKTX 283 leading, instead of SKTX 242. This is so the power can run around the train at Fraser and take the train "backward" back home to Denver. The experience on the train in the summer is completely different from winter. Many of the passenger in the summer are on board just for the experience of riding the train! In the past, a cloud would come along messing up the exposure, or it would be raining, etc. However, this morning, conditions were finally about as good as they can get as the MRONY crosses over the (newly rebuilt) bridge just east of Tolland. I'm obviously bias toward EMD's because that's all the Grande ever owned, but there's just something about the hum of the turbocharger!
