You are almost gauranteed to find two engines, a baggage car, and eight passenger cars (three sleepers, a diner, a lounge car, and three coaches). Unlike in 2005 (the last time the train ran west on the Moffat), this year the train is led by three (leased) P42's instead of just two. In the distance (above the front half of the train), you can see a westbound BNSF manifest working its way through Clay. One of the trips offered is the "Rockies, Sierra, Napa Valley" tour. The train spends seven days between Denver and San Francisco with passengers enjoying tours of Arches and Canyonlands National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and Lake Tahoe, just to name a few. I always like trying to get the NYPV as it is often led by SD70M's. No such luck on this morning, as the train was led by to AC4400CWs and two SD9043MACs. The train was moving slowly at this point - not so much due to the grade, but because it was running on yellows following a BNSF manifest. However, there are a few hiding amongst the pine trees as seen here at the west switch of Clay.
