The HLAUDEN typically has a single unit DPU's on the rear of the train and today is no exception. A UP SD70ACe makes a rear appearance on the Front Range Sub. Temperatures were in the 70's; near-record highs. The HDENLAU is passing Burns Junction at the north end of Broomfield. The mainline and the siding at Broomfield were once two separate mainlines owned by two different railroads. A short section of the track built by the Denver, Western and Pacific Railway still exists between Burns Junction and Lafayette. Rennicks is BNSF's intermodal hub in Denver, seen in the background. The track only half visible on the left side of the picture (at the bottom) is UP's mainline. Even though it is only sitting in the yard, I decided to go ahead and add a shot. The unit is continuing to run nights on the MNYPU/MPUNY between Denver and Pueblo.
