A trio of (patched) Espee GP40M-2s with fly letters have conquered the 8% grade away from the mainline along the Rocky Spur. The units are crossing CO-93 (which connects Boulder and Golden) as they head toward the former site of Rocky Flats.

This former GP40M-2 has suffered from yellow-door replacement! However, somebody has taken the time to remove the UP Shield from the nose and repaint "SP" on the scarlet red instead. UP 1510 is leading the Rocky Local as it shoves 30 cars back across CO-72 on the spur. Note the brakeman on the last car, hanging on for the trip back.

A slightly different perspective of a train at Blue Mountain. Looks like Colorado hasn't yet received the memo that Spring has arrived and sunny, 70-degree days are expected! It is drizzling rain and about 45 degrees out as the MRONY-26 makes its way east toward Clay.

Running on clear signals, the MRONY-26 heads east with four SD70Ms and a C44AC-CTE on the point. At 102 cars and just over 5,800 feet in length, this is a long Roper to North Yard manifest! Most of the train consisted of covered hoppers.
