Why? About 90 seconds before the train showed up, this who spot was covered in glorious afternoon light! Then, a big fat cloud! Oh well...this is BNSF's Denver-Provo manifest headed west. Note the grade crossing sign along the side of the track: "X/QZ" -- The "QZ" represents "Quite Zone". Trains do not use their horns at Kipling. This is an SD70I, which is like the SD70M, but with an EMD WhisperCab. Only 26 units were produced and all went to Canadian National. Not a bad catch for the middle of Colorado!
