The train used to run on Tuesday's and Thursday's, but thanks to the downturn in the economy, it now only regularly runs on Wednesday's (although it will run on Saturday's as an extra if business demands it). When I left home in Arvada, the train was just leaving Leyden. Considering rush hour traffic, I was shocked I got to Fox in time to get this shot...granted I got there with less that 30 seconds to spare! Photo ID: 103563 Date Shot Photo By Wednesday, October 27, 2010 Kevin Morgan Location Times Viewed MP 1 Denver, CO 1998 (1 Comment Posted) Subdivision Railroad Moffat Tunnel (UP) Utah Railway This GP38 (still in the body of a GP35) was the fourth unit on BNSF's Provo to Denver train. After being dropped off in Denver, the unit would depart the following day on BNSF's Denver to Galesburg, IL manifest. This is a Utah Railway unit that I had always wanted to shoot but never got the chance in Utah. How ironic that I was finally able to capture in right in my own back yard in Denver! Rumor has it that the unit is off to Panama City, FL where it will be upgraded (rebuilt) as a GP38-3. Utah Railway sister unit UTAH 2000 is apparently there and being rebuilt as of this picture. The local has just come down off the Front Range Sub and is headed for the yard. It is going to have to stop for a bit though due to traffic ahead blocking its way.
