BNSF was constantly bringing in new wheel sets on the back of flat bed trailers. Three wheel sets per trailer. The new wheel sets are used to transport the derailed tank cars...at least, the ones that can be re-railed!

A unit grain train - sometimes referred to as an earthworm - makes its way south toward the Joint Line in late afternoon light. It was very nice to find a warbonnet leading the train.

You really can't ask for a consist much better than this in 2008! An Oakway (EMD-leased) SD60 sandwiched by a pair of ex-ATSF warbonnets. The leader, an SD75M, is in really good shape!
