Four cranes from Hulcher Services have the nearly 200-ton Tunnel Motor suspended above 44th Avenue and are slowly rolling west toward the Colorado Railroad Museum. The cranes will stop at a bridge that runs over an irrigation ditch just ahead. There, panel track has been laid down the middle of 44th Avenue. The cranes will place DRGW 5401 on the panel track and it will be rolled across the bridge. The cranes will then cross the bridge and continue carrying the unit to the museum.

DRGW 5401 (patched as UP 9871) was the last unpatched Rio Grande Tunnel Motor to lead a train on the Moffat! In 2004, it led a work train from Phippsburg, CO to North Yard. It was also one of the last four Tunnel Motors to depart Helper, UT. Fitting that its brother (DRGW 5371, also one of the last four) was preserved and now live in Ogden, UT.

SD40-2s BNSF 1826 and BNSF 1665 escort a cousin Dash-2, DRGW 5401 (patched as UP 9871) east near milepost 14.5 of BNSF's Golden Sub. DRGW 5401 has been stored on Coors property for the past eight years, waiting for the Colorado Railroad Museum to work out a space for it. The unit had been stored next to the building almost directly above the cab of BNSF 1826.
