It doesn't happen very often, but every once in awhile, there are two Zephyrs in Denver at the same time. Typically, that means one of them is running extraordinarily late, and this morning is no exception. The train in the foreground, led by AMTK 146, arrived a few hours ago as #5. However, it was a 22 hours late #5! And, due to extreme weather, it is returning east as #6, departing on the Passenger Lead. Today's #5 is now arriving in the background, making a reverse move toward Union Station on the Buck Lead.
