Still wearing its Hollis & Eastern lettering, GP10 8170 rests at Swan Ranch. EMD built the locomotive in January 1956 as Illinois Central GP9 9170, and IC’s Paducah shops rebuilt it as 8170 in February 1971. It later served Chicago Central & Pacific as 1770, went to Hollis & Eastern in 1999, and was sold to Mountain Cement in Laramie in 2011 before eventually appearing at Swan Ranch.
