The unit was idling, although it would not load (so it couldn't work to pull the train). other than the missing number boards, not a bad sight at all! The train has been having some rear-end device issues, and it is also waiting for a meeting with a southbound coal empty coming off the Greeley line. There is a lot of power for the train as it is 130 cars and over 7,300 feet long! Note that DRGW 5371 is the 6th unit, being moved to Cheyenne, most likely for retirement. It is becoming increasingly hard to find one, and I was lucky to have stumbled across SP 319 as the second unit on the CNANX-01. The train came from the North Antelope Mine and is now waiting for its crew near Fox Junction. It is ultimately headed for the Nixon power plant near Colorado Springs. It came out of the General Electric shops in Erie, PA in October 2007. The unit is on tap to run as the power on the MDVSI-02 later in the evening. The train is moving at restricted speed as it is following a coal empty into the yard using a box 4 and a box 11 on its track warrant. The local is passing the switching yard at Monaco Street.
