In the world of expensive Tier-4 compliant units from EMD and GE (Wabtec), most railroads are starting to focus money on rebuilds rather than new planes. After the rebuild, UP 5872 also got the latest UP paint scheme, moving the American flag from the long hood to the nose, and removing the wings from the front of the nose entirely. It appears that the yard crew at North Yard blocked the train quite nicely for its trip to Green River, WY. Rolla is a yard just north of Denver that serves as UP's main auto facility for the Denver area. If you purchased a new car in the Denver area, there is a chance it arrived via Union Pacific and was shuffled through Rolla. It seems that AC4400CWs are making a bit of a come back. On this particularly afternoon, I saw far more of those than any ES44s. A trio leads this manifest as it heads out of Denver.
